John Mayer, the world's most popular guitarist and the third generation guitarist of our time, spent two years working with Paul Reed Smith to create Silver Sky.
Based on a vintage 1963-1964 Stratocaster, it features a fat neck with thick neck sides. The PRS design's stress-free playability is very appealing. The vintage-style locking tuners, 635JM single-coil pickups with a moderately comped sound, and other features are all John Mayer's passion.
The model has "vintage elements, but with modern playability".
