Gibson Custom Shop 1999 Historic Collection 1959 Les Paul Aged
The "1959 Les Paul Reissue Aged" model was made in 1999, the first year of the aged finish produced to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 1959 model.
The subtle but three-dimensional grain, weather checks and fading that have been beautifully reproduced over time, and Tom Murphy's aged finish give this guitar the look of a vintage guitar.
The neck grip has a rounded 59 shape, and two original 57 Classic pickups are mounted.
The body side backs and neck grip have lost most of their redness with age, and the the color of the body top has faded and is slightly dull.
There are numerous scratches on the body back and edges that are not due to aging treatment, including buckle marks and dents, and shallow cracks to the neck and body binding.
The pickguard has some scratches, and the knobs have been replaced.
The frets are around 80% remaining and the neck and truss rod are both in good playing condition with no problems.
The certificate is missing.
