The 60s gave us all sorts of oddball instruments. With the invention of the solid-body form and function could be separate things. The so called "Jetsons" guitar from Airline is one of the coolest things to ever ooze out of the soft tissue known as "the brain." Most of them were made of Airline's "Res-O-Glass" but a few were made out of solid wood like this one here which is great for withstanding the rigors of the road or an unruly punk show. There is a crack and repair on one side of the headstock but it is a solid fix. The finish was buffed down smooth as you can see and you can only barely feel the repair. There is no adjustable truss rod on these but they are reinforced with a pretty substantial metal bar so it is nice and straight even after all these years. Action is medium low and it is a very playable guitar. Tuners have been changed a few times so there are some extra holes on the headstock. The knobs are replacements and the tone knob only really starts to roll off highs after turning the dial most of the way, but this is a guitar you'll want to play on "10." There has never been another pickup like those that Valco made. Beefy and rich and ready to kick in the teeth of your amp.
