Description

Summary: This Yairi is a fantastic acoustic Dreadnaught with a full articulate punchy tone when strummed hard or flatpicked and emits a nice shimmering sustain when played fingerstyle. The solid cedar top has a rich dark color and the burled mahogany back and sides are quite eye catching. It has just been setup and restrung by our in house guitar tech and is ready to be played for many years!

Body: Full dreadnaught solid cedar top, burled mahogany back and sides, multi ply back stripe, 6 piece cream/black/tortoise binding and herringbone rosette.

Neck: The mahogany neck has a rosewood fingerboard with pearl dots and pearl flower inlay at 12th fret, bone nut, burled mahogany overlay, 25 ½” scale length and 1.65” nut width.

Hardware: Alvarez branded tuning machines, tortoise pickguard, ebonized bridge, bone saddle and abalone dot bridge pins.

Cosmetics: There are various minor nicks and dents on the body, a scratch in the finish in the upper bout and some minor marking on the headstock but overall it is in good shape with no cracks, breaks or visible repairs.

Playability: This guitar plays wonderfully with a straight neck, comfortable action and smooth frets with tons of life left in them. Our in house guitar tech just restrung it with a new set of 12s and it sounds great!

Modifications: Sources state these guitars have ebony bridges, this one is not- it is a lighter wood that was painted black and lacquered. It does appear that the bridge has been re-glued or replaced because there are some light markings around the edges of the bridge and some glue residue where the bridge meets the top. It was done professionally and most players likely would never notice.

Weight: 4 lbs, 9 oz.

Case: This Alvarez does not have a case but we will ship it professionally packed and fully insured!
