1983 Alvarez - Yairi DY73 Sunburst, Excellent, $775.00

This hand-crafted Alvarez DY73 is an excellent example of the commitment to quality held by Master Luthier Kazuo Yairi. The solid spruce top sports a gorgeous red-tinted sunburst finish with abalone binding and an abalone soundhole rosette. The mahogany back and sides have a really stunning grain quality to them, matching the exquisite accoutrements of the top. The neck features an ebony finger board with beautiful abalone inlays and 20 frets. It measures 1 11/16th” at the nut and has a 25 ¼” scale. The bound headstock sports an abalone “Alvarez-Yairi” logo with replacement Grover tuning machines. It has been setup by our in-house guitar tech and plays like a dream with extremely comfortable action. There are some small dings and digs in the top that do not show up well in the pictures, especially towards the base of the body. They are difficult to spot without holding the guitar up to direct bright light at certain angles. Also this guitar had a pickup installed before it came to us and has a hole drilled where the bottom strap button would be. Overall this is a fantastically built Yairi that has the look and feel of an acoustic 2 or 3 times its asking price! Hurry because it won’t stick around for long! No case included.
