This 1969 Ampeg Dan Armstrong Lucite guitar is clearly a cool one! Inspired by Space Age designs, these guitars (and their bass counterparts) were made with lucite, commonly referred to as Plexiglass. These models were a collaboration between Ampeg and New York City musician and luthier Dan Armstrong and were made from 1969 to 1971. At the time there really wasn’t anything like it, so you would see many famous players with these on stage, with one of the most famous being Keith Richards. This particular guitar is in great shape, all original, and in full working order. There’s definitely a unique tonal quality to these guitars, and the see-through body and interchangeable pickup design make these guitars so fun to play around with. The pickup currently in this guitar is a “Rock Bass” pickup, and you can sometimes find some of the other pickup types (rock treble, country bass, country treble, jazz bass, jazz treble) for sale online if you want another tone while paying. There were six total, so collect them all!
Overall Condition: 8, light wear and scratches on this see-through body
