The Elite AE44-4 is crafted with the same mid-depth Lyrachord bowl-shaped body that has been the calling card of the Ovation brand for decades. This build style delivers a very balanced sound with enhanced volume – and is impervious to environmental changes (such as the legendary humidity and sudden downpours of, say, West Central Florida). This makes it a great option for live performance. The spruce top is adorned with identifiable wooden soundhole epaulettes. In addition to giving the guitar a high-end look, these soundholes are strategically placed to deliver the optimum balance of output and tone.

The live tone of the Applause Elite AE44-4 6-string acoustic-electric guitar comes courtesy of Ovation's OP-4BT pickup/preamp system. This side-mounted setup sends a natural-sounding tone to your onstage amplifier or PA system. Three sliders define your tone's bass, middle, and treble frequencies, while an intuitive gain knob increases the guitar's output. You'll also find a convenient tuner built right into the system.
