Dedicated to bringing you the authenticity of the past mixed with the masterful craftsmanship of tomorrow, the amazing luthiers at Gibson's Custom Shop hand-crafted this brilliant Gibson '64 ES-335 Reissue VOS semi-hollowbody guitar — with every contour, profile, inlay and color of the priceless vintage model in magnificent detail.
Complete with an Ebony VOS finish with a matching Black pickguard and a set of nickel hardware, this guitar features a three-ply maple/poplar/maple body, along with a solid maple centerblock and royalite binding. The smooth, sultry resonance comes perfect thanks to the dual f-holes carved in the top, which are matched by the awesome playability of the authentic '64 medium C-profile solid mahogany neck and the ultimately smooth Indian rosewood fingerboard on top — adorned with twenty-two authentic medium jumbo frets and small block cellulose nitrate inlays.
Installed is a pair of Custombucker Alnico III unpotted pickups — both with authentic profile nickel silver covers — that sing with classic vintage beauty, recalling all of the sweet and striking sounds that made this guitar a delight in the mid-sixties. It controls with two volume and two tone controls, each with CTS 500K Audio Taper Potentiometers and paper-in-oil capacitors, and rounded off with a three-way toggle switch. With the ABR-1 bridge and the lightweight aluminum stop bar tailpiece, this guitar brings the best from the past era of rock back into the modern age.
