Masterfully-built in America, this magnificent clone of the originals matches every part — showing off a unique Tomato Soup Burst nitro lacquer finish with a Murphy Lab Light Aging to give it the appearance of years on the road. 1960 was the last year for the original Les Paul Standard, nearly identical to a 1959 model except for a few specs. Most notably, it features a fast-playing slim neck profile, beloved by the many famous musicians who played ’60 Bursts including Eric Clapton, Joe Walsh, and Paul McCartney.
The Murphy Lab Reissue rendition features a two-piece figured maple top with a hide glue fit atop a one-piece solid lightweight mahogany body and one-ply royalite binding. The comfortable solid mahogany neck was built with extreme care, reverence and attention to detail by expert Custom Shop craftspeople who are committed to providing an authentic vintage ownership experience. It’s matched by the Indian rosewood fingerboard, complete with twenty-two authentic medium-jumbo frets and aged cellulose nitrate trapezoid inlays.
The dual Custombucker Alnico 3 unpotted humbuckers installed produce a killer vintage voice, controlled by the dual volume and dual tone reflector knob controls that have CTS 500K audio taper potentiometers and paper-in-oil capacitors, along with a three-way toggle switch.
