1970’s Aria A 1910 EB-3 Bass
Summary: This is a beautiful example of Arias craftsmanship in the 70’s. This short scale, EB-3 style bass checks all the boxes with its unique pickup configuration, fit, finish and tone.
Body: This vintage Aria has an SG style shape. The body is a natural finished multi-piece mahogany. It has a 3-ply b/w/b pickguard and a thin stripe of wood going all the way through the two halves on the side.
Neck: The neck is 3 pieces of maple and 2 thinner pieces of a different wood in between to make a beautiful 5 piece, bolt-on neck. It has a really nice w/b/w bound rosewood fingerboard with offset pearl dots, black side dots, bone nut, 20 frets, 30 1/2” scale length and 1 ½” nut width.
Pickups/Hardware: It features Arias’ ultra-sensitive double bass pickups with volume and tone controls for each pickup, 3 way toggle switch, individual heavy-duty covered gear machine heads, 2 way adjustable metal bridge with foam mute, original humbucker cover and chrome hardware.
Cosmetics: This bass is in almost immaculate condition. There is a little corrosion on some of the chrome hardware but is otherwise in exceptional vintage condition. The frets have tons of life left in them and there are no fret gouges.
Playability: We have set this bass up with flat wounds and low action giving it a great Motown style tone, but strung up with a set of round wounds it can easily transform into a rock & roll machine. It has low action and is just a breeze to play.
