Description

Much has been written about Bernie Rico and his creations. R.C. Rich instruments have endured, and are desirable.

The Mockingbird design was exciting when it was created, and still is contemporary. Featuring a Mahogany neck-through body with Rosewood fingerboard, Maple wings, 24 frets, Diamond Mother of Pearl inlay position markers, DiMarzio split pickups, Schaller tuners, and a Badass bridge.

Now the electronics, our analysis finds the following:
Master pickup volume knob, Master Preamp volume knob, Master tone knob. Varitone rotary knob that acts on both the Active and the Passive circuits, and utilizes both pickups. Pickup selector switch. Active/Passive mini switch. 1st of the 3-in-a-row mini switches is a phase reversal switch for the bridge pickup. 2nd and 3rd mini switches are series/parallel for neck and bridge pickups.

This particular Longhorn Mockingbird has had the back of the neck refinished, it is now stained, not painted. In the process of refinishing the serial number has been lost, pot codes indicate 1984c production. There is a transition between the stained portion to the painted body. There are a few "marks" about the body, nothing serious. This bass plays quite nicely, the neck and frets are fine, everything is functional, includes road case.
Ready to keep on Rockin!!!
