Roasted maple is a wood made from maple that has been heated at high temperatures to volatilize the water and oil in the wood, thereby increasing its rigidity. When used in the neck, the effect is not only stable but also sonic, producing a rich, raw sound and a vintage tone that has aged well. The TACTICS24 is a new product lineup from Bacchus that brings this authentic specification, often used in high-end models, to a more affordable price range.

As the name suggests, the TACTICS24 features 24 frets. The frets are stainless steel jumbo frets, which are stiffer than strings and can be used for many years. The fretboard is harder than the strings, so it will not deteriorate over years of use, and it glides well for smooth fingering and chalking.

The heel-cut process has been applied to shave the joint (heel) between the neck and body. The joint plate has been eliminated, and the neck fits in the hand when playing high frets, creating a natural shape that does not feel uncomfortable.

While most tremolo units use six screws to support the bridge, this model uses the “WILKINSON/WVS50IIK” tremolo unit with two stud fulcrum points on the left and right sides. It has a wide range of movement when arming, moving down about 1.25 notes and up about 1 note.

In addition, even if the tension fluctuates due to arming, the load is applied to only two points, making tuning more stable than with a tremolo unit that supports six points.

The TUSQ nut is designed to transmit the vibration of the strings from the body to the bridge without wasting any energy, and to produce a rich resonance from highs to lows and even overtones. The TUSQ nut is also designed to provide good string glide and tuning stability.

Two humbuckers are installed as pickups. They are characterized by a round and powerful sound with a bass-leaning tone, and a strong presence can be expected even with clean tones. The humbuckers are also resistant to noise, making them a perfect match for distortion and heavy distortion such as metal. This specification makes it suitable for any genre of music.

The coil tap switch is a switch that cancels the signal from one coil of a humbucker pickup consisting of two coils in series and allows only the signal from the other coil to be transmitted. The result is a single coil only sound, i.e. a single coil sound.

As mentioned above, humbuckers are characterized by a round, powerful sound with a low bass, but by using the coil tap switch, it is possible to produce a crisp, single-coil-like sound.

The nut is equipped with a Graphtec TUSQ nut, which is highly regarded in terms of both function and sound. It also plays a role in tuning stability.
