This original 1988 Barrington BGW-701 formerly owned by Fred Newell, a member of the house band on "Nashville Now."
Made in Barrington, Illinois USA in 1988.
Features a stunning Sunburst finish with stencils around the F holes and pickguard. Also features deluxe block neck inlays with stencil. A great looking guitar.
Newell added PJ Marx humbuckers, a tune-o-matic bridge and he stuffed it with cotton to prevent feedback. Guitar remains as he owned it currently. These are excellent player adjustments.
Guitar plays and sounds fantastic....the humbuckers are remarkably warm with very warm tone. Neck has a great feel and it's easy to play with a low action. The guitar stays in tune real well, too.
Comes with a letter from Fred Newell as well as the original hardshell case.
A wonderful guitar for the player and collector alike.
