This guitar was modified by the previous owner who sent it to a luthier
In Arizona replaced the Bartlett logo with a Gibson logo on the headstock.
Willie’s has handled two Explorers in our day and had a chance to inspect a few belonging to friends. This is an amazingly accurate example.
Has a single piece old growth Korina body, single line vintage Kluson tuners (not repros), original vintage truss rod cover, reclaimed Brazilian Rosewood board. The pickups are OX4 Custom wound for Carter Vintage with Alnico V magnets. They read 8.35K for the bridge and 7.88K for the neck pickup. The tone cap is a Luxe Radio paper in oil bumble bee .022. The case is a 70’s Gibson Explorer case. It’s light and resonant. The cut of the neck would fool any vintage dealer. The specs of the neck angle, bridge, tailpiece placement, control cavity cut, headstock are all copied directly from an original 50’s Explorer. The aging is a study in how to age a guitar the right way. The balance, playability and tone are superb. It’s dressed like a 1963 era with nickel parts. A stunning recreation. On Consignment.
