OD-1 Over Drive (Silver Screw/Japan)
The original overdrive, OD-1 with JRC4558D!
This unit was manufactured around '80, when the specifications were almost changed from silver screws to black screws (thumbscrews). The operational amplifier is JRC4558D. It has a mild and persistent sound with a rich midrange. The same dual op-amp with NEC C4558C has a heavier sound with more lows. The distortion texture is natural, and it can produce a rock-like drive sound with a solid edge.
This model was manufactured in March 1980, and has been modified to PSA specifications, making it very easy to use.
