From the forward-thinking folks at Carvin Guitars comes this fantastic little acoustic/electric semi-hollow thin line that combines the feel and functionality of an electric with the sound of an acoustic. It sports gorgeous gold hardware, a neck-thru-body design, and a 1 ¾” deep body with a comfortable form-fitting carve to the back and sides. The serial on this one puts its time of manufacture sometime in the mid-to-late 1990s. The guitar is amplified via a state-of-the-art LR Baggs ribbon-acoustic pickup that is designed to be extra attuned to the string vibration without responding to pressure against the pickup. This gives you an accurate representation of the sound of the guitar itself without unwanted noise. The back and sides feature Mahogany with the top derived from high-quality AAA Engleman spruce. The Mahogany neck sports 24 medium-jumbo frets, gold Sperzel locking tuners, 14” radius ebony fingerboard, and dot inlays. The frets are in excellent shape with lots of life ahead for them. The neck has a 25” scale and measures 1 23/32th” at the nut. There are a few small dings in the top but otherwise it is in excellent cosmetic condition. It has been set-up by our in-house guitar tech for optimal intonation and playability and has a very comfortable action. It is very lightweight, coming in at a hair under 5 ½ lbs. Overall this Carvin is the perfect option for anyone looking for the playability and feel of a thin line semi-hollow electric guitar but need the sound of an authentic acoustic guitar.
