The heart of the CZ voice is the phase distortion algorithm that waveshapes a sine wave into a more complex "wavetable" that is selected. The shaping and volume (DCA) are controlled by complex and very specific 8 stage envelopes (less stages can be used as well). Multiply these sections by two and combine them with detune, semitone offsets, ring or noise modulation, and you get the unique and rich sounds of the CZ series. All of the synths in the CZ line follow this similar architecture with the CZ-1000 sporting a full size key bed and large user interface buttons compared to some of the others in the line.
This synth is in good working condition with some minor overall wear from its age. Included in the sale is a MIDI patch memory bank that adds the possibility to save 10,000 presets plus an arpeggiator for tons more fun than just the stock setup. Power supply also included.
