~1986 Charvel Model 6 Black Cherry

Summary: The Charvel Model 6 is one of the top line guitars of the Charvel Model series. It features a neck-through construction and active electronics (Jackson JE-1200 circuit) and the black hardware looks phenomenal against Charvels’ Black Cherry finish. It ships in its original tweed hard-shell case.

Body: Poplar solid body with a beautiful “Black Cherry” finish.

Neck: The neck through construction and slim profiled rock maple neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard and mother of pearl shark tooth inlays make for a beautifully effortless playing surface. It has jumbo frets, locking system at the nut and black Jackson branded tuners.

Pickups/Hardware: It has 2 single coil pickups, one humbucker in the bridge position, active preamp circuit, 3 on/off toggle for each pickup, one master volume, one master tone and an active bass roll off knob. The black Kahler vibrato unit works really well, stays in tune great and the micro adjusters are smooth and have a pretty wide range of tuning adjustment. All the hardware is black and looks tremendous against the black cherry finish.

Cosmetics: This guitar is in great shape for its age and you can tell it was well cared for. The frets do not have any gouges or grooves in them, they are high and have plenty of life left in them. There are a couple very small dings on the top and on the bottom edge but overall this Charvel is in fantastic condition.

Playability: The neck is very slim and easy to maneuver while the frets are high, smooth and round. Paired with low action, a straight neck and a new set of 10s this instrument plays brilliantly. Our in house luthier has set this guitar up and inspected the electronics and it is in optimal playing condition.
