Description

This stunning Cole Clark Fat Lady 3EC features a Cedar of Lebanon Top and Rosewood Back and Sides. The Fat Lady is Cole Clark's take on the classic Dreadnought design, with Venetian Cutaway, and their acclaimed PG3 acoustic pickup system. The 3 Series models are made from AAA grade timbers. They feature double binding, a bound fretboard, headstock fascia, upgraded gold machine heads, elaborate purfling and abalone inlays on the rosette, fretboard and waist. They also have some timbers that are exclusive to the 3 series, and come with a hardshell case. A Look at the woods used on this guitar: Cedar Of Lebanon Top: Cedrus Iibani. This is true Cedar and is a native tree of Lebanon. It is a very historic timber with many mentions in the Old Testament. Solomon’s Temple was made from Cedar of Lebanon, and there were also artifacts found in Pyramids made of it. The “Jesus Boat” was made from Cedar of Lebanon. This was a boat recovered from the Sea of Galilee from the 1st Century CE. The Cedar of Lebanon used by Cole Clark was planted in Western Victoria, Australia 100 to 150 years ago. It is a highly scented timber but most importantly, it sounds really great with a full resonant sound. It takes around 10 years to process so it is not always available. It makes a Good all around top, but not great for percussive work. Indian Rosewood Back and sides: Dalbergia latifolia. If you want lots of bass response, then this is the timber for you. It comes from India and is the staple of most guitar makers in the world today for backs and sides. It has good low frequency response, but can be boomy when amplified depending on the size of the guitar and type of fretboard. It is a great option for someone looking for a more traditional acoustic American sound, but with the Cole Clark neck through character.
