Description

Now here's a guitar we've been looking forward to for years. Combining our love of a spruce/mahogany dreadnought with both the traditional package, and the satin finish found on the Julian Lage signature model, this D1A T S is an absolute canon. With a growl to the mid-range when digging in that is hard to beat, and a focused low-end and that pleasant traditional package high-end we're all over the moon with how this guitar turned out.

Perfect for flat-picking and bluegrass fiddle tunes, this D1A produces tons of volume and with plenty of head room to really drive through a jam. This bluegrass cannon has the sort of big, bold, full sound that flatpickers dream of, while being just as responsive when played with a light touch. With it's custom carved Traditional neck and rounded fingerboard edge it's extremely comfortable to play.

The Collings Traditional Series is marked by a return to just that, traditional building techniques and materials combined with the Collings exquisite attention to detail. This series is highlighted by traditional style bracing and tone woods which are adjusted, weighed and voiced to produce particularly warm, rounded highs while maintaining a full, rich low end. The extra thin Nitrocellulose satin lacquer finish, applied without a polyvinyl sealer, makes for a lively, expressive top that has the feel of an old vintage guitar.
