Offered for sale:

Used 2010 Daniel Slaman “The Sunburst Dome” Archtop nylon string jazz guitar serial number 26310.

This guitar is in excellent condition showing very little playing time.

Danieal Slaman states:

The Dome is a unique blend of archtop style and nylon string sound. Strong acoustic response and state-of-the-art amplified sound.

A short definition of The Dome: nylon string tone with an archtop jazz guitar feel.

Many steel string archtop jazz players would like to take a side (or major!) step to the nylon string guitar, but until now that meant going to a completely different feeling and looking instrument with more features of the classical guitar then of the archtop guitar.

These days are over; The Dome has the feel of the archtop jazz guitar; high bridge, arched top, 14 frets to the body, cutaway, slightly narrower neck compared to classical, 10-inch radius fingerboard… any steel string archtop jazz player immediately feels at home with this instrument. It feels much like your steel string axe………but sounds very differently!

General features

The Classic Dome guitar has a domed top, arched back, separate archtop style bridge and tailpiece; warm and percussive sound, very well suited for playing with a plectrum.

There is no binding on the guitar. The top and back are glued directly to the sides and the perfect joint is visible because there is no binding.

Also, there is no inlay on the guitar, except for side dots on the neck. A classic design, an austere looking instrument.

Regarding “The Sunburst Dome” serial number 26310: Traditional sunburst color, non-traditional nylon string jazz sound! Sitka spruce top arched with braces not carved, European maple back and sides, Spanish cedar neck, Rosewood headplate, fingerboard, bridge and tailpiece. Waverly tuners. RMC piezo’s + external PolyDrive II pre-amp.

The RMC Poly-Drive II is a 6-channel polyphonic preamp with 3-band equalizer and guitar/synth controls in a Direct Box format. The unit measures 3.5" X4.5" X2.3" and operates either from the onboard 9V battery or from bipolar phantom power (+/-7 VDC) typically provided by Roland guitar synths and compatible processors.

The Polyphonic section of the preamp buffers the separate string signals and routes them separately to the POLY OUT jack. The separate string signals are also combined in the 'DMX' feedback elimination circuit which produces a mono instrument signal. The mono signal is then equalized, passed through the INSTR. VOLUME control, buffered with a low output impedance Line Driver and fed to both the MONO OUT and the POLY OUT jacks.

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.
