Here's a 1957 Eric Schulte Custom Hollow Body Guitar in Natural finish. What a gem!! Eric Schulte was a master luthier from Pennsylvania. He started building guitars in the 50's, and has been making very high-quality “interpretations” of classic American guitars since his passing. He's looked upon as one of the original boutique guitars builders. In 1957, he hit is stride and started to introduce his own line of guitars....which is what you have here. This is likely one of his earliest, if not first, builds! And yes, the guitar plays and sounds just as great as it looks! There's three original pots in the guitar, that date to '57. The rest of the guitar is original. There was an extra string tree on at some point, but that's been removed. The neck has a comfortable medium C profile, and plays with complete ease. Slinky low action from top to bottom. Frets have plenty of life left. The pickups, which don't have any markings, appear to be DeArmond single coils. They sound fantastic! They're balanced, full, and clear. And yes, that is a hook on the back of the body, which acts as a strap button. Also note- the original tuners are in perfect working order. The tips are solid. We're never going to see anything like this one again!! HSC...
