1998 Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay 5 Sunburst

Excellent condition featuring double cutaway ash body with sunburst finish, multi-ply black and white pickguard, Bartolini humbucking bridge pickup, volume, tone, and EQ controls with black knurled metal knobs mounted to elongated metal plate, fully adjustable heavy duty bridge with engraved Music Man logo, bolt on maple neck, maple fingerboard with black dot inlays starting at the third fret, open gear tuning machines with clover buttons, Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay 5 headstock logo, single round string tree, four bolt neck fastening plate with engraved Ernie Ball Music Man logo, 9V battery compartment on the back of the body, two metal strap buttons, and padded gig bag. This bass weighs 10lb.

This 1998 Ernie Ball StingRay 5 bass is in excellent cosmetic condition. This bass shows slight signs of play wear throughout including some very faint scuffs on the sides of the body, a very difficult to see finish check on the side of the body beside the output jack, some light scratches on the pickguard and on the back of the body by the 9v battery compartment and some light tarnish on some of the pickguard screws. Otherwise, this bass is in very nice played condition. This Music Man has a superb feeling medium C shaped neck profile with a raw finish that is comfortable and very easy to play. The fret wire on this instrument is in great shape and has tons of life left. This bass has been professionally set up here in our shop and it plays outstanding up and down the maple fingerboard with comfortable action and great intonation. This StingRay has had the original pickup professionally replaced with a Bartolini pickup and a low/high pass filter mini toggle switch has been installed on the pickguard. This pickup was a direct fit and no body or pickguard alterations had to be made for the install. The Bartolini pickup sounds stellar and delivers a very round articulate low end and the low/high pass filter really makes for a variety of different and very useful tones. Ernie Ball makes some of the finest instruments in the business and this StingRay V is no exception.
