Description

Basswood body in Shell Pink, clean, nice and light at 7.5 pounds, added repro mint guard (original would have been single-ply white). Early “Crafted in Japan” era made when Dyna Gakki was beginning to augment FujiGen production for Fender Japan. Maple neck with some depth and a bit of a “v” profile, 1 & 5/8” nut, 7.5” radius, 25.5” scale, 21 frets, skunk stripe and plugged truss rod hole, very ‘50s and extremely comfortable, resonant and responsive, plays well and sounds great. Electronics are a trio of staggered-pole single-coils with standard Stratocaster controls and a 5-way switch, aged cream knobs and switch tip. These Fender Japan reissues are very well-made guitars (reverence for and study of vintage Fenders has long been a Japanese among manufacturers, collectors, and historians) and this is a great example of that. Comes with tremolo arm in a non-original but sturdy rectangular brown hard case.
