Oh yes! Here we have a 1958 Fender 5F2-A Princeton amp in lovely condition and sounding great. Just a bit of general wear on the tweed and the grillcloth. Enough wear that you won’t be afraid to take it to a gig, but definitely clean enough that you could proudly display it as the centerpiece of a vintage collection.
Powered by one 6V6 tube with a 12AX7 preamp tube and 5Y3 rectifier tube. Unstamped 8 inch Jensen speaker which we believe is original to the amp. As much as we love Tweed Champs, the Princeton is a definite upgrade. Unlike the Champs which have only a Volume knob, the Princeton add a Tone knob as well. Very useful.
This amp was serviced by the renowned amp guru Skip Simmons! [If you want to know more about vintage amps, be sure to check out Skip’s podcast on Fretboard Journal. It’s funny, informative, and not to be missed.] And this amp is not to be missed, as well. Grab this sweet ’58 Tweed Princeton before it’s gone.
