Here we have a 1998 Fender Nashville American B-Bender Telecaster in classic sunburst finish. This Tele is in excellent condition with just slight evidence of having been played. The B-Bender system is what makes this guitar unique and special. The B-Bender is a mechanical device that raises the pitch of the B string by a whole tone producing a similar effect to classic country pedal steel guitar.
The B-Bender was invented by alt country pioneers Clarence White and Gene Parsons who played in the Byrds in the late 1960s and early 1970s. To see a modern master of B-Bender playing check out Marty Stuart, particularly his instrumental, “Hummingbyrd.” Marty is amazing and he really shows what B-Benders can do.
Chrome “Fender” tuners. Comfortable 1 11/16 inch nut width. One-piece Maple neck with a 25.5 inch scale length. Neck depth is .80 inches at the first fret and .85 inches at the twelfth fret.
