2015 Fender American Special Stratocaster Sonic Blue
Summary: The American Special Stratocaster puts U.S-made Fender quality into the hands of players at any level. For the guitarist who wants a combination of timeless Fender style and contemporary features, this guitar delivers traditional Strat design with some extra elements for modern tone and performance, including Texas Special pickups and special circuitry, modern neck profile and fingerboard radius, and more. This Strat is in great shape and has an aftermarket Seymour Duncan humbucker pickup fit in the bridge position. Our in house luthier has just set up and restrung this Strat with a new set of 10s and it is playing wonderfully. It ships in a gig bag.
Body: Alder Stratocaster body finished in sonic blue and topped with a 4/ply tortoise pickguard.
Neck: A modern C profiled maple neck with large headstock, rosewood fingerboard, white dots, 25.5” scale length and 1.685” nut width.
Pickups/Hardware: The American Special features Texas Special pickups - this has the Texas Specials in the neck and middle position but has been fit with a single coil sized Seymour Duncan humbucker in the bridge. It has a 5 way switch, 1 volume, 2 tone and Fender “Greasebucket” circuit. Vintage style vibrato bridge with 6 bent steel saddles and Fender closed back tuning keys.
Cosmetics: This Stratocaster is in fantastic used condition. There are 2 or 3 very shallow dents in the back of the neck but they are hardly detectable. The body barely shows any sings of use, there are a few minor dents and scuffs here and there but it is mostly blemish free. The pickguard has the typical pick scratches. Overall, the previous owner took good care to keep this guitar in nice condition.
Playability: Our in house luthier has just inspected, set up and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s and it is playing beautifully with low action and a straight neck. The frets are in great shape with no grooves or divots.
Modifications: It has a replacement Seymour Duncan single coil sized humbucker fit in the bridge position.
