1980 Fender Stratocaster in its original Antigua finish. This instrument has a lot of great things going for it so we will start there. This Strat is a single owner guitar that has had the same owner its entire 37 year life. It is entirely original with the exception of one replaced pot and comes with all its original paperwork with matching serials to the guitar. Now for the bad, the late 70s was not a particularly great period for Fender quality control and many instruments from this era are known to have paint issues. This guitar is one of them. The finish has clouded a good amount and has a lot of chipping, deep checking, and natural relicing. At a first glance it looks quite odd, but is right in line with other 1979 – 1981 Strats we’ve had in the store with paint / finish issues. This one is just extreme. Otherwise, really cool instrument. Comes complete with its original hardshell case and paperwork.
