1975 Fender Champ
High silverface era, clean and original save for the 8” Weber Classic Alnico speaker. Factory tolex, grille, transformers, etc. 6 watts from a single 6V6, 12AX7 preamp, and tube-rectified, with very simple controls, only treble, bass, volume and a power switch. Marketed since the ‘50s as a “student” amp, the Champion and its Champ descendants through Fender’s various eras found their niche as one of the great recording amps. This one is unusually aggressive for a post-tweed Champ, and really sounds terrific. Handwired in Fullerton, California, USA.
