Offered is this new and unplayed 2017 '63 Telecaster Custom built in the Fender Custom Shop. This guitar has been given Fender's Journeyman Closet Classic treatment (light aging) and a black nitro finish with white binding and pickguard, for what many call a "Tuxedo Tele" look.
The specs on this beautiful Tele include: a very light, two piece Alder body with a total guitar weight of just 6.6 pounds! The neck shape is called a "63 Strat C" with depths of .84" at the first fret and .97" at the twelfth fret by my measurements and most of the finish has been removed from the back of the neck for a smooth, dry playing feel. The AAA grade Indian Rosewood fretboard has a 9.5" radius, 6105 frets, a 1.650" bone nut and vintage style clay dot inlays. The pickups are Twisted Tele single coils with volume, tone, a three-way and modern wiring.
This is one fantastic Tele. It came to me in brand new condition and played great right out of the box. It is light and VERY resonant. The bridge position tone is classic Tele twang without being piercing and the neck and middle pickup positions are particularly rich sounding. Please check out the brief sound sample provided.
Except for the Closet Classic aging, this guitar is in mint condition and the buyer will be the first to play it for anything other than test purposes. The frets are as they came from the factory too. It comes in it's original brown G&G case with all the case candy, which now includes a multi-compartment leather folder for the certificate and the build sheet.
This is a great playing and sounding Telecaster Custom in as new condition. Don't pay $3,800 for a new example when this as new beauty can be yours for $900 less. A very nice Custom Shop Tele indeed!
