2019 Fender Custom Shop '59 Heavy relic Stratocaster Sherwood Green

Summary: Fenders Custom Shop continues to make stellar recreations of their famed ‘50s and ‘60s instruments. This Sherwood Green ‘59 Heavy Relic has that great vintage look with some unique modern twists. The roasted maple neck adds stability and has a rich dark color, the AAA rosewood fingerboard is really easy to navigate thanks to the jumbo 6100 fretwire and 9.5” radius. The anodized aluminum pickguard ties in the ’59 aesthetic and the hand wound Texas Special pickups sound amazing. Our in house guitar tech has just set this guitar up with 10 gauge strings, low action and a straight neck and it plays beautifully. Ships in its original hardshell case with COA, traveler and Custom Shop guitar strap.

Body: Alder body finished in Heavy Relic Sherwood Green and topped off with gold anodized pickguard.

Neck: ’59 Esquire C shaped roasted maple neck with most of the lacquer sanded off the back from factory for a soft worn-in feel, AAA rosewood fingerboard with clay dots, jumbo 6100 frets, 9.5” radius, 1.65” nut width, .790” first fret thickness. Custom Shop 30th anniversary decal on the back of the headstock.

Pickups/Hardware: 3 brilliant sounding hand wound Texas Special single coils, vintage modern wiring, 1 volume, 2 tone, vintage style “Synchronized Trem” with bent steel saddles, anodized aluminum pickguard and backplate, 5 way switch and vintage Kluson style Fender tuning keys.

Cosmetics: This Fender has a heavily reliced finish from the factory with lots of wear through the finish, chips, dings, weather checking and slight tarnish on the hardware. The guitar is otherwise like new.

Playability: Our in house guitar tech has just inspected, setup and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functioning and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fingerboard with no dead spots or chocking out.
