初期ゴールドレースセンサーを採用したArt Esparza製作のクラプトンモデル
Art Esparzaは1997にフェンダー社に入社、カスタムショップ創世記の1988年には7人めのカスタムショップのメンバーに選出され、1994年にはマスタービルダーに昇格、その後体調不良でフェンダーを去る2004年までの間に、エリック・クラプトン、ジョン・メイヤー、バディー・ガイ、アーニー・アイズレイなど多くの有名ミュージシャンのギターを手がけます。
中でもアニー・アイズレイのZEALや、バディー・ガイのポルカドット柄のストラトキャスターは、そのミュージシャンのアイコンとなるギターで、見た目のインパクトでも注目を集めるギターを製作していました。
このArt Esparzaが製作したカスタム・クラプトン・ストラトキャスターは珍しいメタリック・グリーンのカラーリングも特徴。美しいフレイムメイプルを使用したネックは丁寧に削り出されており、高い演奏性能を誇ります。初期ゴールドレースセンサーピックアップにTBXコントロール、ミッドブーストと、エリック・クラプトンの拘りが詰まった仕様。
本人も携わっていたエリック・クラプトンのストラトキャスターだけあって、その完成度は折り紙つきです。
現在はプロのサックス奏者として活動しているとの事。ギター製作に一日の長があり、その知識や技術も卓越したArt Esparza。音楽家として幅広い才能を持っているのはとてもうらやまし事です。今やフェンダーのギターを製作する事は無いであろう、名ビルダーの製作したエリック・クラプトンモデル。「俺のクラプトンモデルは普通とは違うんだな」と所有者の中でも自慢できる最高品位のカスタムショップモデルです。
