1972年にフェンダー社に入社、1978年に一度退職するも、80年代末にはフェンダー社に復帰しマスタービルダーとして辣腕を振るい続け、フェンダー社においてその名を知らない者はいない程の職人だったJohn.T.English、2007年にこの世を去るまで第一線でギターを製作し続けた伝説の名ビルダーです。この2001年製Fender Custom Shop MBS 1955 Custom Stratocaster built by John Englishは、1955年製のストラトキャスターを忠実に再現したモデル。グリップ感のあるメイプル材を使用したソフトVシェイプネック、軽量で導管に良く音を含み芳醇な倍音を生み出すライトアッシュボディ。極薄のラッカー塗装に施されたレリック加工は重厚感をまとい、良質なマテリアルのサウンドの良さも100%引き出します。フェンダー社の浮き沈みをフェンダー社の歩みと共にその体で体験し、ギターの良し悪しやミュージシャンの求める楽器を探求し続け、自ら「ヴィンテージトーンが好きでどんなオーダーが来ても対応出来る」と話していいたジョン・イングリッシュだからこそ可能なヴィンテージ・リーシュ-で、何時間でも演奏していられるフラストレーションを感じない心地よさと最高品位のサウンドを体感出来るストラトキャスターです。
