Fender Custom Shop 2015 MBS MVP 1960 Stratocaster Super Heavy Relic By John Cruz
This "Custom 1960 Stratocaster Super Heavy Relic" model was built by John Cruz, a former master builder who now runs his own brand of instruments.
John Crews, known as the "Relic Master," has applied a bold yet subtle relic treatment to the instrument, reproducing the peeling paint on the elbow and back contour, yellowing of the body and neck due to aging, color scorching of plastic parts, and rusting of metal parts.
The neck shape is '60 Style Oval C, the fingerboard is 9.5 radius with Sanko 6105 frets, and a head-adjustable Bi-Flex truss rod is used for both forward and reverse bends.
The pickups are HW Strat JC LTD, which John Cruz ordered the number of windings, and the volume knob has a built-in S-1 switch that allows for a wider range of sound variations, including add-on neck/bridge pickups.
There is no fret wear, and the neck and truss rod are in good condition.
