Fender Custom Shop 2014 Proto Stratocaster NOS

This is the "Proto Stratocaster NOS" model in the off-catalogue color Sonic Blue.

This "Proto" was produced as a follow-up to the modern "Pro Series" that was in production until 2013, and featured the specs often requested by the master builders at the time: brimmed 22 frets, graphite nut, 2-point tremolo, Sperzel locking tuners, heel cut, original pick-up combination, 1vol & 1tone, head adjustable rod and other unique specs not found in vintage styles.

It has a large head, lightweight ash body, AAA grade bird's eye maple neck and urethane body finish.

The neck is a relatively slim 60s Oval C shape, with Texas Special pickups on the neck and centre and a Custom Hand Wound '60s Strat on the bridge, signed by Josefina Campos.

The neck originally has a satin finish, but has become shiny with use.

There is a 6mm diameter paint chip on the body end, several shallow dents and scraches throughout the body, and shallow scratches and pockmarks on the back of the neck.

The frets are not dented, with about 70% remaining, and the neck and truss rod are both in good condition.
