The Custom Shop-model Fender Vintage Custom '57 Precision Bass Time Capsule Package exemplifies the flagship design that has carried the torch for the electric bass for so many years on stages and on the greatest recordings of all time. It's perfectly decorated with all of the adornments of it's year, with a Wide-Fade 2-Color Sunburst NOS lacquer finish and a Gold anodized aluminum pickguard.
Masterfully-built in America, this fantastic bass is constructed of a two-piece hand-selected alder solidbody, letting a comfort mix pleasantly with the resonant, vintage-style tone, and accented by the larger Strat-style headstock. The one-piece quartersawn maple neck has a '57 soft V-profile, a 7.25"-radius fingerboard, and twenty medium vintage (47095) frets.
A hand-wound '57 P-Bass pickup delivers perfect vintage low-end thump and is wired to the master volume and tone controls. It has the now-familiar split double-rectangular humbucker pickup style that was introduced during this model's venerable year. Other features include a vintage-accurate set of hardware, a four-saddle vintage-style bass bridge, vintage-style tuning machines, a bone nut and a disc string tree.
