The Reverb amplifiers that Fender was producing in the 1960s and 1970s became an industry standard for electric guitar tone at their introduction. The Deluxe Reverb is the most popular of the line with its manageable ~22 watt output and 12″ speaker. The Reverb and Tremolo that this amp features has become the benchmark by which many other amp builders have based their circuit and tonal apsirations. This versatile amplifier has been used from Funk to Country and everywhere in between.
This 1969 Fender Deluxe Reverb-Amp was originally purchased for grandmother to amplify her accordion. She did so for a short time but lost interest early on. The amp went into a dry storage space and sat for nearly all of its life. The only maintenance required was a gentle Tolex cleaning and some light deoxit to the potentiometers and contacts. One of the power tubes had lost its vacuum so it was replaced with a period correct 6V6. The amp performs perfectly and functions just like it did right out of the factory in 1969. The tolex, face plate and grille cloth show very minimal wear and are free of large imperfections. All parts are original to the amp except for that one power tube. All parts perform as they should and do not exhibit wear or limited function. The foot switch is original to this amp as well. The unit is now in perfect performance ready condition and still retains all the proper collectibility of a vintage amp. Since the amp still retains its original two prong power supply, you may wish to have a grounded plug installed.
The blackface and early silverface era Fender Deluxe Reverb-Amp is one of those pieces that every vintage inspired studio should have in their arsenal. All original parts in a vintage amp means that it hasn’t been abused or improperly treated throughout its lifetime.
