Fender Esquire Vintage Electric Guitar 1958 - Natural
Here we have a super-cool 1958 Fender Esquire! This guitar is 6lbs 6oz and sounds phenomenal.
The body was unfortunately stripped at some point, though remnants of the original white can be seen in the grain. There is a very light natural clear applied to the body that appears to have yellowed just slightly. The neck retains its original finish, which is heavily checked, something we see often with 1958 models.
The body date 4-58 is present in the bridge pickup route, and the neck pocket still shows the original finish. The neck is dated 4-58 as well. The electronics, tuners, bridge, and other parts appear to be original, except for the pickguard which we think is a replacement. The guitar has had a recent refret with medium jumbo wire and plays wonderfully in all positions. There appears to be a couple solder joints touched up, specifically for the bridge leads which we think were removed when the finish work was done. The guitar still has the original Esquire mud circuit in-tact and does not appear to have ever been converted.
The guitar has seen considerable use. The natural finish is worn through in spots already, and the forearm body edge has a subtly worn down feel. It is loud, dynamic, twangy and super resonant acoustically. The pickup is strong and sounds great. The dark circuit is super-muddy. The neck has a full C shape about it, with just the hint of a V apex down low. It measures .870 at the first and .970 at the 12th.
