Replay Guitar Exchange presents a blast from the past in the form of this Japanese-made 1992 Fender HMT Thinline Telecaster. Its hockey-stick headstock, speedy 24-fret neck with streamlined inlays, coil tapped humbucker and built-in Floyd Rose are surefire indicators that Fender built this one for speed! (Of course, if you were around back then, you'd remember your amusement upon learning that HMT stood for Heavy Metal Telecaster).
This HMT is in Very Good condition, with minor scratches, dings and wear appropriate for its age. The remains of what may be the original retail sticker still adorns the back control plate. We estimate a good 85% remaining fret life. The original Fender Lace Sensor in the neck has been replaced by a Seymour Duncan. It's a guitar you don't see everyday, but it's a Heavy Metal Telecaster with an F-hole, it's red with cool cream binding, and you know you want it.
