1999 Fender Japan JG66 Jaguar in Burgundy Mist Metallic w/Matching Headstock, US Pickups, CIJ, Offset

Here’s a rare gem you don’t often find on the used market—a 1999 Fender “Crafted in Japan” JG66 Jaguar, finished in the elusive Burgundy Mist, complete with a matching painted headstock and an Indian rosewood fretboard. This guitar is equipped with Fender’s US-made Pure Vintage ’65 Jaguar Pickups, adding even more value to its appeal.

Japanese-made Fenders have a well-deserved reputation for excellence, and this Jaguar is no exception. The craftsmanship and attention to detail rival those of its USA counterparts, if not matching them outright.

Sourcing Japanese-made Jaguars is becoming increasingly challenging, even within Japan itself. Their growing popularity among musicians, paired with the high level of Japanese craftsmanship, has made these models highly sought after and collectible. This particular model was produced in limited quantities, intended only for the Japanese market, and is rarely seen outside of Japan.

As for its condition, this Jaguar is in outstanding shape, showing minimal wear and reflecting careful maintenance. The metallic finish shifts between subtle violet and vibrant pink hues depending on the lighting, with very few surface marks to note. There’s a small dent on the edge of the painted headstock (clearly shown in photos), but it’s the only noticeable blemish at first glance.

The flamed maple 7.25” radius slim vintage 60's oval ("C") neck and Indian rosewood fretboard are both in excellent condition, with only a slight indentation on the bass side. The frets have plenty of life left and provide a smooth playing experience. The electronics function perfectly, and the upgraded Fender US-made Pure Vintage '65 Pickups offer a richer, more authentic vintage Jaguar tone compared to the original pickups. The guitar weighs in at 8.55 lbs.

Included with the guitar are a Fender gig bag and the stock tremolo arm.
