We are excited and pleased to offer this fine example of an all-original 1966 Fender Jazz bass Candy Apple Red with the coveted and rare matching peg head in all original near mint condition. In addition to its obvious collectors and investment prowess, this fine instrument plays and sounds as good as it looks. Great feeling bound A neck with dot inlay specific to 1966 is perfectly straight retaining its original frets that exhibit almost no real significant playing wear. This fine all original no issue instrument retains its factory original finish, all original hardware and parts, all original electronics. The original pickups are perfectly balanced all knobs and controls work and conform to factory specs. Nice lightweight resonant alder body with nice light weight counterbalances perfectly with the maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. The cosmetic condition is superb, owned and rarely used by a responsible pro bass player who took great care of his coveted bass in a smoke free environment. The bass is remarkably clean but does have some signs of age and careful usage. There is some light and typical horizontal lacquer checking on the back of the peg head, there are a few little chips of red missing around the top perimeter (typical). The body has some light superficial scratching in a few places but not much else, no significant wear or damage to the body as evidenced in the photos. No modifications or repairs, this is an all-original instrument in almost showroom condition and as good an instrument as one can buy. We highly recommended buying instruments in this realm of quality, as the investment yield is always greater when buying rare models in perfect condition. There is no better place to put your money than in this fine piece. All original near mint 1966 Fender Jazz Bass Candy Apple Red serial number 137019 with matching peg head, original owners manual, original strap and era appropriate black coil cable with original hard shell case.

We ship USPS Priority and Fed Ex Ground next business day, all instruments are carefully packed utilizing new shipping materials, all instruments are insured by Heritage Insurance. All parcels are flat rate shipped and are the same price for all buyers in the domestic USA, international shipping is also flat rate for anywhere in the world. The price is based on the cost of new shipping materials, boxes, bubble wrap, tape and labor and has nothing to do with where you are or your ability to pick it up in person. It is not in our business model to offer in person demonstrations of instruments or in person pickup, both of these things take an employee and extra time. If you have a limit as to what you want to spend on shipping please factor this into you instrument offer as we accept reasonable offers on most items. If an item doesn’t allow a lower offer it’s because it’s already been discounted and already at its lowest price. We recommend that you don’t chose an instrument based on shipping cost alone as there are more important issues all of which we have well covered. I might point out that all of our guitars come with professional detailing and set up, this has real value and keeps one from getting inferior work from an unqualified retail establishment. Thanks for your understanding. John Russell Nelson owner VGA Vintage Gear America
