The Made in Japan International Color Series is a tribute to a unique era in Fender® history that brings back a beloved and distinctive series. Originally introduced over forty years ago, the bold and captivating International Color collection only lasted for a brief period of time. The series was launched in 1981 and featured appointments that reflected the style of the 1970s, as well as a fresh palette of colors that were named after exotic and alluring locations around the world. Today, collectors and enthusiasts cherish these rare guitars for their beauty and scarcity.

The Made in Japan International Color Series revives this iconic collection with a limited run of guitars that blend the vintage Fender vibe with Japanese craftsmanship to create a truly special instrument. Departing from the traditional design, these guitars are built with basswood bodies, 9.5” radius maple or rosewood fingerboards, and medium jumbo frets to allow for more adventurous playing. The neck is fashioned in the ‘70s “U” shape and features the original "Bullet" style truss rod nut, three-bolt neck plate with Micro-Tilt™ mechanism, "F" Stamped™ tuners, and a serial number on the headstock face. The vintage-style single-coil Strat® pickups and synchronized tremolo recreate the classic Fender tone and feel.
