Summary: This is a super cool Paisley Strat from the original run of the series. It features a unique hybrid of a seventies-style neck and a ’68 style Pink Paisley finish. A great playing and desirable MIJ Fender.

Body: Basswood Stratocaster body. Pink Paisley finish.

Neck: Three-bolt maple C-shape with maple board. Large 70’s style head stock with bullet truss rod.

Electronics/Hardware: Three single-coil pickups. Five-way pickup selector. One volume and two controls. String-through tremolo bridge with vintage style saddles. Fender-branded tuners. Two string trees. Pink Paisley pickguard.

Cosmetics: This guitar looks great. The color on these Paisley models can vary; this one gets the balance right—not too pink, not too orange. At some point, a previous owner gave it a light relic job; the result is visible in some dings and light cosmetic “crazing” that has caused the finish to flake in areas and make it seem much more “vintage” than it is. There are a few darkened spots on the fretboard from playwear. The frets are in excellent shape and show very little wear. This early model has the “pinkburst” pickguard which blends more naturally with the body finish than the later design.

Playability: Playability is excellent on the comfortable C-shape neck. The action is low, with no buzz or dead spots. The pickups are strong, articulate and balanced in all positions.

Mods/Repairs: Replacement nut. Original tuners replaced with modern Fender tuners. Missing back cover plate.
