レアなFenderホロウボディ・ベースの復刻モデル！
1960年代中頃、ホロウボディのギター/ベース人気を受け、Fender初のホロウボディを持つモデルとして誕生したのがCoronadoシリーズです。
1966年に発売されたCoronado Bassは、当初1ピックアップのみの展開でしたが、翌1967年にはその上位モデルとして2基のピックアップを搭載したCoronado Bass IIがラインナップに加わりました。
本機Modern Playerシリーズは、Fenderの伝統的でユニークなモデルにモダンスペックを取り入れ、Fender中国工場にて生産されるシリーズです。
2013年に復刻したこのModern Player Coronado Bass IIは、オリジナルからいくつかの改良点が加えられています。
オリジナルではセンターブロックをもたないフルアコースティックボディでしたが、この復刻版ではセンターブロックありのセミアコースティック構造となっています。
また、ピックアップは2基のFideli Tronハムバッカーが搭載しています。
ホロウボディのベースといえばGibsonが真っ先に思い浮かびますが、Gibson EB-2等の圧倒的な低音の雰囲気とは違い、Coronado Bass IIはホロウボディのふくよかさとFenderらしい音の輪郭感が融合したサウンドとなっています。
ピックアップポジションやピッキング位置を変えることによって、さまざまなニュアンスを出せるのが魅力的な1本です！
