Description

Vintage original 1958 Fender Precision Bass in a killer vintage Sunburst finish.

A remarkably light and resonant P-bass with sound you can hear way across the room without it even being plugged in! Plug it in and holy moly....it's pure James Jamison thump fat and round bass tones. Percussive and warm, organic tone...Amazing.

The finish is not original, but you can see signs of the original Sunburst under the current finish. It looks like the original finish was so worn they refinished with some of the original finish underneath. No routes to the body.

The neck is straight and plays great all the way up and down without buzz or issue. Neck is nice and fat with a classic 1950s feel. There is no neck date, correct for a '58. There is a small repaired crack near the low E tuner, it's not going anywhere.

The pots are dated '58 as well. The cap has been changed to a newer cap, and it appears the pickups are Fender re-iisues, though we are not sure of this. It is possible they are original. The wiring is all cloth wiring.

This is perhaps the best sounding and playing in our store in quite a while.

Comes with a vintage 1960s Fender tolex hardshell case as pictured.
