1961 Fender Precision Bass Blue Ice Refinish of Original Color Slab Board
Refinished in Lacquer to exactly match the Original Blue Ice Finish. I bought the bass with the body stripped, but the original finish was still visible in the control cavity, pickup cavity neck pocket and that color was matched for the refinish. Jim at Noll Guitars is a genius at matching new body color to old finish in neck pocket and control cavity. Body has no routes no cracks no repairs no stories no excuses. The Slab Board Neck is dated 11-60. Some finish wear on the back of the neck. Neck has the normal amount of wear and a newer nut, the original frets are fine, and the neck is near perfect so we didn't mess with it. With neck dated November 1960, Pots dated 47th week of 1960. It's doubtful that the pots were manufactured 47th week of 1960, were immediately shipped to Fender and then installed in a Bass in the 5 weeks before January 1961. This Bass is almost certainly a very early 1961 model. Original pickups and windings and pots, original pickguard, tuners, neck plate, bridge, knobs, input plug, everything but the body finish, newer nut, and the PG screws.8 lbs 3 oz light without the 2 covers Brown Case Included Latches work fine but don't spring up anymore
