Here we have a 1961 Fender Precision Bass in beautifully aged see through Blonde over Ash. This is the real deal, folks. If you’ve been on the hunt for a pre-CBS Precision bass, hunt no more. Here it is.
Basic Specs: Original Nickel-plated tuners. 1 23/32 inch nut width with an added Bone nut. Maple neck with a 34 inch scale length. Neck depth measures .81 inches at the first fret and .97 inches at the twelfth fret. Neck is pencil dated “1-61”. Brazilian Rosewood slab fingerboard with 20 original frets in good condition. 7.25 inch radius. Original pickups with CTS pots dating to the 36th and 47th weeks of 1960. Includes original pickup and bridge covers. Replaced output jack. Original Tortoise pickguard with some shrinkage and broken tips (broken pieces are in the case).
This bass is a treasure and such a joy to play. If you’re a collector (and hopefully also a player), grab this while you can. Comes with original hang tag, too.
