“Precision Bass: … The famous electric bass with true performance proven bass tone quality… Split pickup design for even string response | Wide contoured neck to facilitate | Wide range volume and tone controls…” –1974 Fender Catalog
Make and Model: Fender Precision Bass, Narrow Maple neck, Custom color
Year: Early 1976, serial 69xxx
Specifications: 34″ scale length Maple fretboard, 1 1/2″ nut width (1 33/64″ actual), .86″ neck depth at the first fret, 1″ neck depth at the 12th fret, 9lbs 2oz
Originality: All parts appear to be original except for the the thumb rest, bridge cover, and a few screws on the pickguard. I added new foam underneath the pickups to gain proper height.
Condition: Very good with no breaks or repairs. The original custom color Olympic White finish has yellowed and has some discolored/lighter areas on the back. There are various nicks and scratches throughout.
Playability: Excellent! The frets are in great condition and the neck is straight with a properly working truss rod.
Notes: Neck option ✔! Color option ✔! Light weight ✔! This was the most expensive version of the Precision Bass in 1975 at $370 compared to the standard version at $325. It checks all the cool options that players look for in a vintage guitar. It also plays and sounds like a million bucks. I’m confident you’ll love this killer ’76 Fender Precision Bass in rare Olympic White finish!
