1969 Fender Rosewood Telecaster in excellent condition with very minimal signs of wear throughout the instrument. This Tele was owned by the legendary Grateful Dead guitarist, Bob Weir, and comes with the official paperwork from when it was purchased through Sotheby's. This guitar was auctioned off in 2021 as apart of Sotheby's "From the Vault: Property from the Grateful Dead and Friends" and Alex and Tom helped with the initial appraisal and instrument maintenance. This Tele has serial number 265496, neck stamped “3 290 99B”. This guitar was constructed with a chambered rosewood body, one piece rosewood neck with maple “skunk stripe”, three way switch, master volume, master tone, 250K ohm potentiometers, “modern” wiring, two single coil pickups, includes original hard shell case. This guitar is all original except for changed volume and tone pots. This guitar has a scale length of 25.5", fingerboard width at the nut of 1 5/8", thickness at the first fret of .89", thickness at the twelfth fret of .96", and weighs 8.02 lbs exactly. This guitar comes with the original hardshell case.
