This is an incredibly rare "Smuggler's" Telecaster from 1967. Only offered for a short period, these instruments are the predecessors to the later "Thinline" models and feature a series of hollow cavities beneath the pickguard. This guitar has a great playing neck with a rosewood fingerboard, "See-thru Blonde" finish, and 3 ply white pickguard, and the original bridge pickup offers the perfect Telecaster tone that can go from James Burton to Jimmy Page! We previously sold this instrument to our good friend and session legend Tom Bukovac who can be heard using this guitar in several videos and on countless recordings. This guitar is truly part of Fender and guitar history, and with very few examples out there, these don't come up for sale often!
